As a key member of our technical operations team, you will be responsible for leading a shift team of engineers to maintain and improve the performance of all plant and equipment, ensuring maximum machine availability targets are met.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a High-Performing Engineering Shift Team: Create a culture of motivation, engagement, and development among team members, ensuring they are equipped to achieve their potential.
- Plan and Prioritize Shift Workload: Strategically allocate tasks to maximize machinery uptime and achieve production targets.
- Ensure Compliance and Safety: Verify that all plant and equipment adhere to relevant legislation, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
- Manage Permit to Work and GMP: Ensure contractors and colleagues work safely, adhering to good manufacturing practices and food safety requirements.
- Document and Analyze Shift Activities: Accurately record shift performance, escalate relevant events, and contribute to daily meetings.
- Qualifications and Experience: Hold a mechanical or electrical engineering qualification, ideally at NVQ L3, with experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with permit systems, risk assessments, and method statements, as well as PLC awareness and fault-finding capabilities.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
