About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Trainer to join our team at ATS Recruitment. As a Senior Technical Trainer, you will play a key role in providing comprehensive technical training to our clients in the field of Building Control and Structural Insurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Technical Training Manager in developing and delivering technical training programs for Building Control and Structural Insurance professionals.
  • Collaborate with the Surveying Network to identify training needs and develop training modules to meet those needs.
  • Design and deliver training modules and competency tests to ensure that trainees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Participate in the development of the Competency Framework for Building Inspectors and other related roles.
  • Deliver Risk Management training and Building Control training to area teams, external clients, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of virtual training and webinars.
  • Assist in the delivery of the annual technical training conference.
  • Provide technical articles and support to internal and external customers as required.
Requirements
  • Degree-level graduate in Building Surveying or a related field with a minimum of 2.1.
  • Full Member or Surveyor/Engineer (MRICS, MCIOB, MCABE, MIStructE, or similar).
  • Post-qualification experience in Building Regulations, associated legislation, and construction standards.
  • Relevant BC experience, plan check, and site inspection experience, as well as warranty, quality, or defect resolution experience.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of the pathways towards professional membership bodies associated with Warranty and Building Control (CABE, RICS, CIOB).
  • Extensive experience of differing construction methods, as well as experience of defect resolution issues.
  • Ability to create good working relationships with the surveying network and other construction professionals.
  • Basic understanding of general insurance principles and terminology desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and e-learning creation packages.
