Job Description

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management services. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Building Services Engineer to join our prestigious banking client based in London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive engineering support, maintaining operational assets and ensuring compliance with health and safety codes of practice.
  • Ensure all engineering operational activities within the building are controlled and carried out with due regard to health and safety, business risk, and maintaining 100% uptime criteria.
  • Responsible for maintaining excellent standards of response to asset performance, completion of assigned work, and ensuring any abnormal operating conditions and housekeeping issues are dealt with proficiently.
  • Coordinate work permits to specialist service providers and escalate approval of permits that can affect business-critical systems.
  • Monitor risk assessments and supplier activities on the campus and ensure they follow current health and safety legislation.
  • Oversee the safe systems of work, enforce health and safety legislation guidelines for the sites, and update risk assessments associated with work-related maintenance routines.
  • Ensure quality assurance audit procedures for engineers' tools, ladders, equipment, PPE, and regular checks and inspections are completed.
  • Control small project works within the campus, including moves, changes, planned renovations, painting, and liaison with approved specialist service providers and suppliers.
  • Coordinate and conduct site inductions and maintain a record of personnel involved.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the building services industry.
  • C&G Pts. 1 & 2, equivalent or exceeds.
  • 18th Edition IEE: Wiring and Installation.
  • C&G 2391 test and inspection (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding and be technically competent in all building services, particularly UPS, Static Switches, Water Treatment, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and direct a team of technicians/operatives.
  • Proactive in achieving the highest standard of operation.
  • A high level of initiative.
  • Advanced communication skills with a full understanding of customer needs and expectations.
  • Ability to comprehend and act upon both verbal and written instructions.
  • Enthusiasm and demonstration of proactivity, diligence, and alertness, with the willingness to participate in appropriate training schemes.
  • Integrity, honesty, and punctuality is also expected.
