Senior Speech and Language Therapist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adults with communication and swallowing disorders.
About the Role:This is a rotational post across the adult inpatient rotations on the King's College Hospital site. As a Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing a specialist service to adults who have communication and/or swallowing disorders, including those with tracheostomies in situ.
Main Responsibilities:- Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adults with communication and swallowing disorders.
- Clinical Governance: Ensure that all clinical activities are conducted in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, and that all staff are aware of their responsibilities in relation to clinical governance.
- Team Development: Provide guidance and support to junior therapists, and contribute to the development of the Speech and Language Therapy team.
- Service Development: Contribute to the development of new services and initiatives, and ensure that all services are delivered in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
- Research and Audit: Participate in research and audit activities, and contribute to the development of new research and audit projects.
- Postgraduate Qualification: Possession of a postgraduate qualification in Speech and Language Therapy or a related field.
- Clinical Experience: Significant clinical experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adults with communication and swallowing disorders.
- Leadership Experience: Experience of providing clinical leadership and expertise in a healthcare setting.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
This is a full-time post, working 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required.
