About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to join our engineering team at First Bus. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicle electrical systems, ensuring our fleet is safe and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex electrical faults in vehicles
  • Carry out routine maintenance and servicing of vehicles
  • Be fully conversant with the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems, including engine management, automatic/semi-automatic gearboxes, electronic braking, suspension, electronic destinations, multiplex wiring systems, and E.C.U.
  • Be familiar with all relevant diagnostic equipment, including multi-meters, temperature gauges, micrometers, vernier gauges, and E.C.U. diagnostic computer equipment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent (i.e. City & Guilds level 1 & 2)
  • Full conversance with the safe operation of workshop equipment and the overhaul and repair of vehicle electrical systems
  • A valid UK driver's license

Working Hours and Pay

This is a full-time position, working 39 hours per week. You will be required to work a variety of shifts, including early morning and evening shifts. The hourly pay rate is £24.24 per hour, with overtime pay at £24.24 per hour.
