The NHS England is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Consultant to fill the position of Head of School of Paediatrics. This is a challenging role that requires leadership in postgraduate education, negotiation with key stakeholders, and ensuring high standards across the board.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop the Postgraduate School of Paediatrics, focusing on improvement of learner supervision, assessment, and experience.
- Engage faculty and ensure effective educational outcomes, both now and in the future.
- Develop multi-professional links and innovative ways of curriculum delivery and workforce well-being strategies.
- Collaborate with the Postgraduate Dean to achieve the NHS England's purpose and objectives.
- Primary clinical healthcare qualification.
- Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, professional association, and/or regulatory body.
- Considerable experience of working with doctors in an educational context.
- Experience of clinical and educational leadership and innovation, including managing a multi-professional team.
- Trained and experienced in recruitment, selection, and equality and diversity.
- Active involvement in and up-to-date with appraisal processes.
- Knowledge of the NHS, its structures and processes, including an understanding of healthcare/multi-professional workforce matters, the Gold Guide, and educational theory.
- A secondment basis for an initial period of three years, extendable subject to satisfactory appraisal.
- Education Management Contributions (EMCs) per week.
- Support for personal and educational development.
- A fixed level of funding contribution for this role is £24,000 per annum.
