These positions will be based in our Reading office, with potential for hybrid working arrangements.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop practical and effective technical solutions to engineering challenges
  • Assess existing and prospective manufacturers for technical capability and compliance
  • Conduct technical studies on project-related issues and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders
  • Evaluate engineering and design proposals for large-scale projects
  • Review and enhance engineering documentation, including procedures, standards, and specifications (FEED)
  • Participate in HAZOP / SIL assessments and demonstrate knowledge of IEC 61511
  • Collaborate with design engineers, operations teams, procurement, and other internal departments
  • Engage with clients, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies

QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSc in Electrical, Process, or Process Control Engineering
  • Significant experience in instrumentation and control engineering within the oil, gas, or petrochemical sectors
  • Experience with Middle Eastern projects is advantageous (Gas Plants, Refineries, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of instrumentation and control fundamentals, including flow, level, pressure, temperature, and process analysis
  • Proven experience in instrument selection for process applications
  • Familiarity with boiler control, process heater control, and process furnace control in line with project requirements
  • Understanding of materials and selection criteria for inline instrumentation
  • Knowledge of electrical systems for instrumentation, including cabling, wiring methods, grounding, and control circuits, along with hazardous area design implementation
  • Extensive knowledge of national and international standards, particularly ISA, ANSI, ASME, API, NFPA, and IEC
  • Field experience in oil, gas, or petrochemical industries with a variety of instrument and control installations, including during construction, commissioning, and operations
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), including Foundation Fieldbus
  • Familiarity with project vendor's PCS (project control system) and FAT (final acceptance test)
  • Proficient in office and technical software applications
  • Strong command of English, both written and verbal
