Job Summary:

Oxford Bus Company is seeking a detail-oriented and AAT qualified finance professional to join our Finance Team as an Accounts Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to advance your career with a forward-thinking organisation.

About the Role:

As an Accounts Assistant, you will provide essential support to the Finance Team, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a lead on Accounts Payable tasks, posting and reviewing payroll journals and managing one-off BACS payments, employee expenses and company credit card payments.
  • Maintaining high levels of financial control at all times.
  • Working closely with the Shared Service accounts payable team in Newcastle, resolving invoice processing queries and ensuring accuracy in supplier master data.
  • Conducting P&L analysis to help explain monthly financial performance.
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances.
  • Supporting the wider finance team in responding to audit queries from both internal and external auditors.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a similar finance or accounts role.
  • An AAT qualification or equivalent.
  • A proven track record of problem solving, project management and continuous improvement in a business environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
