Job Title: Process Engineering Team Lead

Location: Manufacturing Operations

Salary: £54,732+ depending on skills and experience

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineering Team Lead to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Continuous Improvement team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Lean Process Engineers across various manufacturing areas, driving process improvements, and promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Lean Process Engineers to drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Kaizen and Lean Action Work-out events, driving process improvements and implementing Lean Manufacturing strategies.
  • Develop and implement process improvements through analysis, problem-solving, and root cause identification, ensuring effective implementation and sustainability.
  • Manage and coach team performance, setting objectives, and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Drive process improvements through data analysis, variance accounting, and process control, ensuring effective implementation and sustainability.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities, ensuring effective communication and alignment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or Trade school certificate/degree and direct hands-on experience in manufacturing).
  • Proven experience in a production manufacturing role, driving process improvements and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to lead programs/projects and drive results.
  • Awareness of Continuous Improvement principles, including Effective Line Management, Built-in Quality, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis, Rate Manufacture (Takt & Flow), Kaizen, Standardized Work, Problem Solving, and 5S - Workplace Organization.
