About the Role
GKN Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Global Software Asset Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the management and optimization of software assets across our global footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive global software asset management strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of software licenses, entitlements, and usage across all business units and geographies.
- Monitor software license compliance and ensure adherence to licensing agreements and regulations.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and risk mitigation through software license optimization and consolidation.
- Collaborate with procurement, legal, and finance teams to negotiate favorable software licensing agreements and contracts.
- Establish and maintain relationships with software vendors and partners to stay informed about licensing changes, updates, and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on software asset management policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure ongoing compliance with software licensing requirements.
- Continually review software license estates to harvest unused software and optimize usage and deployment.
- Manage and act as primary contact for software compliance audits.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to software asset management.
Requirements
- Proven experience (3+ years) in software asset management or a related field, with a focus on global operations.
- In-depth knowledge of software licensing models, compliance requirements, and optimization strategies.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Solid understanding of IT procurement processes, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
- Proficiency in software asset management tools and technologies.
