Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join UK Power Networks as a Ganger - Powercare, working within the Network Operations team based in our Lewis Grid area. As a Ganger, you will be responsible for performing excavation, backfill, and reinstatement works on Faults, Small Service, and Unmetered Connections work streams within the UK Power Networks SPN Distribution Licence area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of yourself and others by performing risk assessments and maintaining safe working practices.
  • Operate hand-held IT equipment to receive job instructions and record site information.
  • Ensure the quality of works meets current procedures and guaranteed service standards.
  • Secure vehicles, tools, plant, and equipment.
  • Work independently or as a lead person in a 2-person excavation team.
  • Undertake other reasonable responsibilities following company requirements.
  • Represent UK Power Networks as an ambassador.

Requirements:

  • NRSWA Units
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • C1 Minimum Driving licence
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Driver CPC
  • Towing Licence
  • Machine Operator ticket
  • CSCS Operatives card
  • Emergency First Aid

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working on electricity networks
  • Trench Support (deep excavation)

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

Employees need to be aware that for some craft and operational roles that work at height, or use fall arrest devices, there is an upper weight limit of 116Kg due to maximum safe working load of the safety equipment that is used.
