Clearmatics is a blockchain protocol engineering company dedicated to building decentralized financial market infrastructures that are more open, efficient, and resilient than traditional systems. Our mission is to create a new market infrastructure that enables peer-to-peer trading and settlement within emerging markets. We aim to achieve this by developing digital assets whose values track real-world risk factors currently lacking representation in legacy markets.
Clearmatics was founded in 2015 and has since been a committed advocate of open-source development, actively participating in blockchain and cryptography research communities. We are also dedicated supporters of decentralized infrastructure initiatives.
Responsibilities- Design and prototype decentralized financial protocols on Autonity, enabling the creation of decentralized risk markets based on real-world factors.
- Work on a diverse range of problems, including smart derivatives, decentralized exchange (DEX) trading & settlement protocols, algorithmic stabilization, data oracles, liquid staking, and more.
- Collaborate with smart contract engineers to provide technical design clarity, review code and tests, and contribute to a growing Solidity codebase.
- Partner with quantitative researchers to develop new models and simulations, providing technical support for research efforts.
- Produce comprehensive technical design specifications for both external publication and internal use.
- Stay abreast of advancements in the DeFi and broader blockchain space, actively engaging with the Autonity community to address protocol design challenges.
- 2+ years of experience designing, researching, or implementing DeFi protocols.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant quantitative or computational field of study.
- A deep understanding of the DeFi landscape and major DeFi primitives.
- Familiarity with financial derivatives and quantitative finance fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Python programming and Ethereum development.
- Expertise in the Python scientific computing stack (NumPy, Pandas, Jupyter).
- The ability to clearly and concisely document DeFi protocols.
- A passion for mathematics and the ability to translate mathematical concepts into code.
- Experience analyzing time-series and market data using SQL and GraphQL.
- Expertise in economics, game theory, applied cryptography, or distributed systems.
- Smart contract programming experience in open-source Web3 projects using Solidity.
