Role Overview:

In the capacity of Gas Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to uphold property services through the execution of both planned and reactive maintenance in alignment with established programs, budgets, and quality standards set by the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections, identify faults, install components, and perform repairs on heating and hot water systems.
  • Carry out investigations related to emissions.
  • Perform heat loss assessments.
  • Execute surveys for boiler replacements or system upgrades, including quality checks of completed tasks.
  • Test and commission equipment.
  • Conduct gas servicing activities.
  • Test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
  • Complete job sheets and daily logs, as well as weekly time records.
  • Adhere to safe working practices to ensure the safety of both the workforce and the public.
  • Engage with all stakeholders to guarantee the delivery of high-quality services and achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure the fulfillment of planned commitments to clients, meeting agreed-upon KPIs and service standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service in all interactions.
  • Participate in toolbox talks.
  • Comply with the company's Health & Safety Policy consistently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management, including vehicle maintenance and reporting malfunctions promptly.

Candidate Profile:

To qualify for the Gas Engineer position, candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:

Qualifications:

  • ACS / Gas Safe certification with demonstrable relevant experience.
  • Certifications: CCN1, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1, CENWAT.
  • Knowledge of Energy Efficiency.
  • Experience with Unvented Hot Water systems.
  • Familiarity with Heat Interface Units (HIU) and Heat Pumps.
  • Understanding of gas fires and cylinders.
  • Experience with Heat Recovery Units (HRU).

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in gas servicing.
  • Proven track record as a qualified heating/gas service engineer in communal or domestic settings.
  • Proficient in the use of PDA devices for task management.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to foster and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in all aspects of gas systems, including wiring.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Possession of a valid full clean driving license is essential.
