Job Overview

As a proficient 2nd Chef within our culinary team, your background in supporting the Cook Manager during their absence will empower you to enhance the catering services provided within our establishment.

Your responsibilities will include crafting high-quality, freshly prepared meals that cater to the nutritional and cultural preferences of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

In the absence of the Cook Manager, you will:

  • Guide and inspire a team of kitchen staff to deliver outstanding catering services to our residents.
  • Collaborate with the Cook Manager, Home Manager, residents, and families to develop menus that meet individual dietary needs and preferences, ensuring all food served adheres to nutritional standards.
  • Prepare beverages and snacks throughout the day, tailored to the choices of residents.
  • Plan and execute set menus in the Cook Manager's absence.
  • Assist the Cook Manager with inventory management, including stock taking, rotation, and storage, while ensuring the accuracy of deliveries.
  • Monitor and replenish kitchen supplies in coordination with the Home Manager, maintaining records in compliance with company policies.
  • Oversee the presentation of dining areas to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Support the supervision of other kitchen personnel.
  • Uphold high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food preparation to comply with environmental food safety regulations.
