Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable QTS Supply Teacher to provide high-quality educational support to our students. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, ensuring continuity of learning, and maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver effective classroom cover for absent teachers, ensuring that pre-prepared lesson plans are followed and adapted as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment, promoting student engagement and well-being.
  • Manage classroom behavior in line with our school's behavior policies, ensuring a smooth and efficient learning experience.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff to ensure seamless transitions between lessons and classrooms.
  • Uphold our school's values and standards, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Participate in school life, including attending staff briefings and meetings as required.
Key Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching at Key Stages 3 to 5 in secondary schools.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of varying ages and abilities.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across different subjects and year groups, sometimes at short notice.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly with students and staff.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to follow pre-prepared lesson plans and manage classroom resources effectively.
Desirable:
  • Experience working in a supply teaching role across a variety of subjects.
  • Experience in both short-term and long-term cover assignments.
  • Familiarity with the School Information Management System (SIMS) for recording attendance and behavior.
