We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team at Stantec, working on the design and development of cutting-edge hydropower and pumped storage hydro solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and support the testing of mechanical systems for hydropower and pumped storage hydro projects, including turbines, pumps, generators, and control systems.
- Take line management responsibility for some members of the team, support business growth and strategy development, and own project deliverables.
- Work closely with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for projects and communities.
- Chartered or Incorporated status with the IMechE is preferred.
- Specific experience in mechanical design of hydro and/or pumped storage hydro systems is a must.
- Mechanical experience in other sectors, particularly elsewhere within the Energy and Water sectors, is advantageous.
