SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated SEN teaching assistant to join a specialist provision in Upminster. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with a temporary-permanent opportunity for the right candidate.

The students you will be supporting have a range of special needs, including ASD, SEMH, and complex learning disabilities. You will be required to aid in the daily activities of the classroom and use your creative skills to support the students in a unique way.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with SEND or children in a similar setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with students
  • A passion for education and creating a supportive learning environment
  • The ability to use creative approaches to engage students and improve their confidence

The role involves:

  • Supervising students with SEND and ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Aiding the execution of education plans tailored to each student's needs
  • Building trusting relationships with students and communicating effectively
  • Promoting class interaction and encouraging students to engage in lessons
  • Creating an interesting and supportive learning environment
  • Assisting students with practical activities using various teaching aids
  • Caring for students' physical, social, and emotional well-being

All pay rates quoted include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with the option to become permanent in the future.
