A leading firm in energy transformation is seeking a skilled Commercial Quantity Surveyor to oversee the financial management of essential contracts. This pivotal role is part of the commercial team, contributing to the organization's growth strategy. You will engage in all phases from estimating and bidding to project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Project Managers daily to ensure projects meet financial and commercial objectives (payment terms, JCT/NEC, etc.).
  • Provide regular and precise reporting to stakeholders, including CVRs, Cash Flow, and Weekly Updates.
  • Assist in conducting valuations for initial, interim, and final payment applications.
  • Evaluate and monitor payments for subcontractor and supplier accounts according to agreed terms, ensuring alignment with upstream contractual obligations.
  • Identify, notify, assess, and agree on changes (variations, compensation events, claims), alerting the business to potential impacts on costs and gross profit.
  • Work alongside the Commercial Contract Manager to optimize the recovery of all contractual rights.
  • Participate in monthly project reviews and CVR meetings with the Project Manager.
  • Support the Project Manager in the seamless handover of projects to Design and Construction teams.
  • Lead and engage in the development and refinement of processes, documentation, and templates, ensuring effective implementation for future projects.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external clients and suppliers.
  • Experience in managing project budgets, including profit and loss, and providing regular commercial forecasts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated success in managing contracts and tenders effectively.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Understanding of the project lifecycle from inception to completion.
  • Capability to monitor delivery against contracted scopes of work.

Requirements:

  • Experience with NEC and JCT contracts and their applications.
  • A technical or commercial degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role with related responsibilities.
  • Technical knowledge of project delivery and pricing within MV/HV works.
  • Proficiency in productivity and collaboration software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint across various devices.

Compensation:
The salary for the Commercial Quantity Surveyor position ranges from £45,000 to £55,000, accompanied by excellent benefits.
