Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 2 Driver to join our logistics team at AmerisourceBergen Corporation. As a Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a Class 2 vehicle to transport goods and materials to customers and other locations.
  • Ensure that all products are delivered on time and in good condition.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure that the vehicle is in a safe and roadworthy condition.
  • Report any faults, breakdowns, or accidents to the transport department.
  • Abide by all tacho-graph laws and ensure daily/weekly rests are taken as required.
  • Collect goods returned from external customers as instructed by the transport staff.
  • Maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle, including cleanliness.
  • Ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.
  • Maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
  • Check all orders shown on the dropsheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
  • Ensure all trailer seal numbers are logged before departure and before opening at the service centre or external customer.
  • Deal with damages/breakages promptly and correctly, with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.
  • Maintain a smart appearance at all times.
  • Help maintain good customer relations.
  • Communicate effectively with the transport staff based at the service centre.
  • Be involved in other duties as may be defined from time to time by management.
  • Meet all Health & Safety requirements.
Requirements
  • A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer care.
  • Intermediate numeracy and literacy.
  • Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable.
  • Route planning experience.
Working Relationships
  • Constant interaction with external customers.
  • Regular liaison with other Drivers and members of the transport team.
Level of Decision Making
  • Required to act on own initiative and work unsupervised.
  • Required to monitor the condition of own vehicle and report and damages or faults.
  • Serious faults or damages may result in the Driver making the decision the vehicle is not roadworthy.
