Position Overview

We are collaborating with a prominent organization in search of a Lead RF Systems Engineer to enhance their growing team, focusing on diverse projects from conception to production. The company provides advanced design tools, skilled engineers, and in-house manufacturing capabilities for RF/mmW technology. This position entails the development of innovative products in partnership with the engineering team.

The organization specializes in a wide array of products, including tailored devices and extensive telecommunications and defense systems.

Role Objective:

The primary responsibility of this role is to design RF/mmW components and systems, ensuring compliance with electrical performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability standards.

Key Responsibilities as a Lead RF Systems Engineer:

  • Design and develop RF/mmW sub-circuits, sub-modules, and systems for telecommunications and defense applications.
  • Specify, design, simulate, and implement RF/mmW elements, including transmission lines, various filter types, couplers, synthesizers/multipliers, and IC/MMIC components.
  • Work collaboratively with the mechanical design team on electromechanical concept designs.
  • Coordinate with the electronics/PCB design team for support electronics and high-frequency PCB layout.
  • Analyze system configurations.
  • Conduct thermal, MTBF, and component derating analysis, adhering to organizational and client specifications.
  • Prepare design documentation such as design logbooks, data packs, and peer reviews for design release and production.
  • Deliver thoroughly verified and documented designs within project parameters.
  • Engage in and initiate design reviews to mitigate risks.
  • Verify and validate designs, prepare test specifications, reports, and reliability assessments.
  • Maintain an up-to-date design compliance matrix with supporting compliance data.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose manufactured products during introduction, establishing diagnostic procedures.

Qualifications for the Lead RF Systems Engineer:

  • Relevant degree in RF/Communications Engineering or a related field.
  • Expertise in RF design tools such as Microwave Office, CST, EMPro, and ADS.
  • Proven experience in microwave circuit/system design, including line-up analysis, tolerance/yield analysis, and DFM.
  • Experience in transceiver product design.
