Internal Audit Lead

About the Role
RSM is seeking a highly experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join our Risk Assurance team. As part of our team, you will be involved in the delivery of internal audit services to a wide range of clients across the not-for-profit and corporate sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake complex and specialist audits, including risk management, governance, product, and process audits, in accordance with our Internal Audit standards.
- Manage, perform, and control internal audit assignments, including assignment planning, programming, conduct, and control of audit work, and reporting findings.
- Draft audit planning documents for approval and review by clients and management.
- Prepare high-quality audit reports and working paper files within the specified timescales and budgets.
- Lead and supervise more junior staff on individual assignments, providing technical audit guidance and support.
- Provide job training and guidance for auditors and training for more junior auditors.
- Perform the audit of complex and specialist areas, including review work in respect of significant findings.
- Assist management in ensuring that assignments are completed to time and budget.
- Assess the performance of team members and provide feedback.
- Be aware of and advise management of any potential additional work opportunities at existing clients.
- Participate in the firm's appraisal and development process.
- Ensure compliance with all firm policies, including health and safety.
Requirements
- Experience within an internal audit role, preferably with a relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, IIA, or ACT).
- Broad technical knowledge of governance, risk management, and internal audit.
- Ability to review and control technical content of work to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal audit standards.
- Understanding of the range of additional services that RSM can provide to meet clients' needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to express ideas and information with clarity and confidence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to managing inconsistent and varying workloads.
