We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housing Litigation Solicitor to join our team at North Yorkshire Council. As a key member of our Legal Service, you will provide legal support on a range of matters related to housing litigation and debt recovery.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of civil litigation and debt recovery law. You will work closely with our Legal Manager and the Litigation/Education/Employment team to provide a comprehensive legal service to the Council, Directorates, Committees, and Members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal support on housing litigation and debt recovery matters
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of cases in court
  • Work with colleagues and Members at every level within the organisation
  • Manage the performance of staff within your responsibility
  • Ensure compliance with Law Society Professional Standards
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must hold a Solicitor, Barrister, Chartered Legal Executive, or equivalent qualification. You should have demonstrable knowledge of law in civil litigation and debt recovery and preferably Special Educational Needs and Education. You must also have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, good presentation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to critically analyse diverse information presented in a variety of formats.
