The role involves providing technical engineering support for all production and facility equipment, ensuring optimal machine performance. This position emphasizes Planned Preventative Maintenance and is part of a diverse engineering team dedicated to maintaining the operational integrity of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing and rectifying faults in all production and facility equipment.
- Executing Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks according to the established schedule, documenting any defects or issues encountered.
- Accurately recording maintenance activities and defect resolutions.
- Modifying or installing machinery and equipment as necessary.
- Collaborating with production teams to identify suitable times for maintenance activities.
- Adhering to corporate guidelines, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Ensuring proper documentation of all parts used during maintenance to maintain stock levels.
- Acting as the primary liaison for external contractors performing maintenance, ensuring comprehensive reporting upon completion.
- Ordering and installing spare parts that are identified as necessary during maintenance.
- Coordinating with production to ensure all maintenance tasks are completed effectively.
- Participating in ongoing reviews of Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks to enhance effectiveness and address any identified gaps.
- Maintaining operational services through regular maintenance and improvements.
- Leading and mentoring shift technicians in their responsibilities.
- Completing all required training courses for the role.
- Executing projects as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor.
- Actively engaging in Lean Sigma initiatives to achieve set objectives.
- Keeping management informed of maintenance challenges and equipment downtime.

- Exercising reasonable care for personal safety and that of others in the workplace.
- Maintaining a safe working environment to prevent injuries and equipment damage.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and providing feedback on unsafe practices.
- Utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment and safety measures.

- Collaborating with management to ensure employee safety and welfare.
- Reporting unsafe conditions and near misses promptly.
- Engaging in open discussions regarding safety concerns with colleagues and supervisors.
- Using equipment and protective gear responsibly.
- Completing all mandatory safety training.
- Remaining free from the influence of substances that may impair performance.
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and machine operation instructions.
- Reporting incidents and accidents following established procedures.
Quality Assurance:
- Understanding and adhering to the company's quality policy in all activities.
- Complying with company cGMP regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Performing other duties as assigned by management.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Providing coverage for other trained roles as needed.

Basic Qualifications:
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering.
- Trained in BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations.
- Experience in maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of industrial equipment.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
- Understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
- Experience in regulated industries, particularly medical devices.
- Familiarity with PLC and robotics systems.
