Essential Qualifications & Skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of sourcing new direct components necessary for New Product Introductions (NPI) from both existing and potential suppliers, which entails a thorough understanding of specifications, drawings, and technical documentation provided by the engineering team.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for direct components, leveraging this expertise to inform sourcing strategies and supplier partnerships.
  • Utilize market and industry insights to identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers.
  • Recognize risks and vulnerabilities within the Supply Chain, prioritize these risks, and propose solutions to mitigate the most significant threats, whether by developing new sources or enhancing existing ones.
  • Spot opportunities for cost savings and take appropriate action.
  • Identify and act on opportunities for inventory reduction.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Ensure adherence to sourcing and contracting policies, procedures, risk management protocols, and ethical standards.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to suppliers as needed, as well as to the Purchasing Team.
