Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert knowledge in financial risk and control to the organization.
  • Assist in executing the annual second line assurance strategy.
  • Contribute to the advancement of the risk and controls maturity initiative.
  • Promote a robust risk management ethos within the company.
  • Support the creation and execution of a comprehensive risk and controls framework.
  • Conduct thorough testing of controls and process evaluations.
  • Offer guidance and oversight to the organization regarding risks, controls, and operational processes.
  • Facilitate discussions centered on risk to identify, evaluate, document, and manage risks and controls.
  • Help identify key risk indicators and assist in investigating any discrepancies.
  • Perform regular risk evaluations and horizon scanning activities.
  • Review and analyze risk and control matrices.
  • Provide training on risk and controls to the organization.
  • Conduct annual assessments of design and operational effectiveness of financial controls.
  • Support the rectification of control deficiencies and compliance issues.
  • Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure compliance with audit standards.
  • Lead transformative initiatives within the Risk and Controls team and broader Finance department.
  • Provide project assistance as required.
  • Drive critical assessments and analyses for the business.
  • Assist in reviewing internal policies.
  • Maintain documentation repositories and information sites.
  • Deliver regular updates and insightful management information to the Finance leadership team.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of financial processes, risks, and controls.
  • Experience in accounting, financial scoping, and auditing.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Risk Management principles.
  • Knowledge of compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Experience in regulatory or operational risk, or internal risk and control frameworks.
  • Awareness of US SOx principles (not directly applicable to this role).
  • Ability to critically evaluate and map business processes, risks, and controls.
  • Proficient in business systems and analytical tools (Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Understanding of SAP and other financial systems.
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent time management capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Membership in a professional organization (e.g., CISA, IIA-QiCA, CIMA, ACCA, ICM, CPIM, or CPM), or equivalent experience.

Join our innovative team as a Financial Risk Management Consultant. We are looking for a confident and driven individual to provide financial risk and control expertise to our organization. In this role, you will support the execution of the annual second line assurance strategy and contribute to the development of a strong risk management culture.

Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed controls testing, guiding the organization on risks and controls, and facilitating risk-based discussions. You will also perform regular risk assessments, review risk and control matrices, and provide training on risk and controls. Additionally, you will lead change initiatives within the Risk and Controls team and offer project support.

To succeed in this position, you should possess a solid understanding of financial processes, risks, and controls, along with experience in compliance and risk management. Proficiency in analytical tools, excellent communication skills, and a keen attention to detail are essential for this role.
