Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled security engineer to spearhead the core software security evaluation initiative for Arm's software solutions. As a vital member of Arm's Product Security division, you will significantly contribute to fortifying the security of our software and methodologies while nurturing a robust security-oriented culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate a detailed software security evaluation framework
  • Execute security evaluations and code inspections to identify and rectify vulnerabilities in firmware and system software
  • Assess and provide insights on security testing outcomes, including DAST, SAST, and SCA
  • Refine the security testing protocols for Arm's software offerings
  • Devise a strategy for software fuzz testing at Arm
  • Enable engineering teams to perform security testing independently
  • Remain updated on the latest industry standards and innovations in software security
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in crafting and evaluating software threat models
  • Expertise in writing secure code and architecting secure software, especially for low-level software such as drivers and firmware
  • Acquainted with leading industry-standard fuzzing tools like AFL, libfuzzer, and syzcaller
  • Demonstrated capability in conducting secure code evaluations (C/C++) for complex software projects
  • Proficient in automation utilizing scripting languages (e.g., Python)
  • Experience in Software Composition Analysis with tools like Black Duck
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Arm's open-source software
  • Understanding of Arm assembly language
  • Experience in penetration testing
  • Conducted software security training sessions
  • Experience in configuring and establishing rules for SAST tools such as Coverity and SonarQube
  • Skilled in performing root cause analysis for security vulnerabilities
  • Experience with relevant security certification programs (e.g., PSA Certified, common criteria, SESIP) and international standards (e.g., ISO 21434, IEC)
