Role Overview:
We are seeking an Incident Response Coordinator to join our Risk and Control Team, reporting directly to the Chief Control Officer. This pivotal role will involve:
- Facilitating the Incident Management process for both Gold and Silver Teams.
- Ensuring compliance with the Incident Management and Escalation Framework while promoting ongoing enhancements.
- Analyzing incident impacts, identifying root causes, and extracting valuable lessons learned.
- Training a dedicated team to effectively lead incident coordination efforts.
This position will initially require onsite presence, transitioning to a hybrid work model thereafter.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluating the risk and control landscape through thematic incident reviews.
- Conducting assurance assessments on incidents to foster consistency and continuous improvement.
- Delivering training sessions for stakeholders on incident management and response protocols.
- Creating and updating specialized procedures related to Incident Management.
- Developing comprehensive reporting and management information regarding incident management and associated risk impacts.
- Maintaining an audit trail for incidents, including tracking agreed actions and conducting Post Incident Reviews.
- Collaborating with Risk and Control owners to provide guidance and insights on critical decisions, ensuring accountability in managing risk profiles.
- Contributing to the cultivation of a risk-aware culture within Starling Bank.
- Presenting Risk Management information in a clear and actionable format.
- Assisting stakeholders in identifying risks and establishing controls, including continuous monitoring strategies.
- Recognizing control weaknesses and recommending enhancements.
Candidate Profile:

Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, with a solid understanding of database management.
- Experience in First or Second line risk management or as a risk advocate within a business unit.
Desirable Knowledge:
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks.
- Background in incident management is highly beneficial.
- Understanding of Operational Risk, Conduct Risk, and Consumer Duty is advantageous.
