Porterbrook is seeking a Data Quality Engineer to join our Fleet function and play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our digital services.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for monitoring and improving data quality across our Azure Data Factory and Databricks pipelines. Your expertise in Python, SQL, and data governance will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of data integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and recover Azure Data Factory and Databricks jobs to ensure seamless operation.
  • Proactively identify and address potential data quality issues, implementing solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Porterbrook's diverse data sources and established governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate effectively with the team to enhance data quality processes and best practices.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and demonstrate the effectiveness of data quality initiatives.
  • Maintain user-facing dashboards that provide clear visualizations of data quality metrics.
  • Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and patching of digital software products used within our infrastructure.
  • Document root cause analysis for any data quality issues encountered, providing insights for resolution and prevention.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience with public cloud services, Python, SQL, Apache Spark, and data analytics pipelines.
  • Familiarity with railway industry data ingestion methods, PySpark, and Power BI is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential for success in this role.
