We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Yard Operative to join our team at Jewson Sheffield. As a key member of our branch, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a safe and efficient working environment, and contributing to the success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of our product lines to offer expert advice and guidance to customers.
  • Prepare customer orders, load and unload vehicles using a Forklift Truck to minimize manual handling.
  • Check incoming deliveries and report any missing or damaged products.
  • Maintain stock levels in both the shop and yard areas, conducting regular stock counts.
  • Ensure the branch is kept clean and tidy, making a great first impression on our customers.
  • Prioritize Health & Safety and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work.

Requirements
  • Previous industry experience preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Confident working both indoors and outdoors.
  • A health and safety focus.
  • Comfortable with extensive manual handling of bulky items.
