Our Tax department is a national practice that provides a joined-up service to a diverse range of clients, from middle market businesses to large corporations. We work closely with colleagues across the firm to deliver expert advice and guidance on all aspects of taxation.
About the RoleAs a VAT Associate Director, you'll play a key role in managing the interface between our clients and the firm. You'll work closely with Partners and Directors to ensure that client expectations are met in terms of service, quality, and cost. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team at an exciting part of the journey.
You'll have the chance to work on a wide range of VAT matters, from identifying and advising on VAT issues to leading due diligence projects and reviewing VAT affairs. You'll also have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise through training and professional development.
Responsibilities- Provide expert advice and guidance on VAT matters to clients and colleagues.
- Manage the interface between clients and the firm to ensure that client expectations are met.
- Lead due diligence projects and review VAT affairs to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Develop and implement strategies to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Act as a principal point of contact for clients on VAT queries and provide excellent client service.
- Undertake work delegated by Partners and Directors and ensure that tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Monitor work in progress reports and ensure that clients are billed on a timely basis.
- Develop an advanced level of technical knowledge through reading and courses, and stay up-to-date with changes in VAT legislation and regulations.
- Identify, meet, and convert prospective clients, and assist other departments in the research and preparation of formal proposals for new work.
- Attend staff meetings and training as required, and carry out any other duties as requested by the line manager or Head of Department.
We're looking for a VAT Associate Director with previous experience of working at Manager or Associate Director level within VAT. You'll have a strong commercial acumen and the ability to implement and meet targets. You'll also have excellent communication and influencing skills, with demonstrated experience of client management.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to build and develop a team of VAT practitioners, and will be confident in helping to drive forward a good team environment. You'll be a strong leader who can motivate and inspire others to achieve their best.
