Job Title: Co-occurring Mental Health, Alcohol and Drugs Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Co-occurring Mental Health, Alcohol and Drugs Specialist. The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality assessments and interventions for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

About the Role

The post holder will be responsible for developing and enhancing communication and information sharing between Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and Substance Misuse Service Providers. They will also strengthen joint working protocols between Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and Substance Misuse Services in relation to discharge planning.

The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of the needs and difficulties of people who experience co-occurring mental health, alcohol and drug difficulties. They will be able to work autonomously within the multi-professional team to deliver high-quality assessments and liaise in a responsive way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance communication and information sharing between Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and Substance Misuse Service Providers.
  • Strengthen joint working protocols between Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and Substance Misuse Services in relation to discharge planning.
  • Provide professional supervision and leadership for all COMHAD clinical staff and commissioned substance misuse services across Bromley.
  • Offer consultation to all Oxleas mental health teams in the Bromley acute, crisis and liaison mental health services.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification and current registration as a RMN, RGN, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist. They will also have evidence of continuing professional and personal development.

Desirable qualifications include additional drug and alcohol qualifications and experience of high levels of working both independently and in a team setting.
