As a key member of Kingston University's Server and Storage division, you will play a crucial role in our transition towards a fully operational AWS cloud environment.
Our team oversees the management of both on-premises data centers and cloud services, and we are in search of a proficient technician who can autonomously manage their workload and engage in projects without the need for constant supervision. A keen interest in cloud technologies and a willingness to enhance your cloud expertise are essential for this position. In the immediate future, we will continue to maintain our local server infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will possess experience as a systems administrator, with proficiency in either Windows or Linux systems, ideally both.

Candidate Profile
We are embarking on an exciting journey into a native AWS cloud framework. While prior cloud experience is advantageous, we are committed to training and developing our current staff. This role is an excellent opportunity for those looking to acquire cloud skills while engaging in operational tasks.
The successful applicant will have a proven track record of working independently as well as collaboratively on projects. Effective communication with service stakeholders across the university is vital, making strong interpersonal skills a necessity.
Although the job description outlines various technical skills, familiarity with Windows or Linux operating systems and cloud technologies will be pivotal. Knowledge of data center operations, hardware, automation processes, and VMWare will be beneficial.
