The Role:
As a Senior Mortgage Underwriter, your responsibilities will include:


Reviewing loan applications to verify the completeness of documentation according to company standards and, for referred cases, collaborating with intermediaries to obtain any missing items.

Conducting evaluations of submitted applications and providing recommendations regarding underwriting checks to the Assistant Manager or Head of Loans Underwriting, as appropriate.

Acknowledging applications to applicants and intermediaries through appropriate communication methods.
Taking ownership of cases from application to offer, ensuring timely processing in line with Service Level Agreements.
Issuing and verifying the adequacy of reference inquiries while raising necessary queries. Performing checks with professional institutions as required by established procedures.
Issuing instructions to Panel Valuers.

Maintaining accurate records of all applications received in accordance with operational procedures.

Generating Loan Offers that comply with the company's Lending Policy for submission to the appropriate authority for approval.

Dispatching Mortgage Offers and Solicitor Instructions as applicable, following approval.
Addressing inquiries from customers, intermediaries, or solicitors through various communication channels as necessary.

Verifying Certificates of Title to ensure compliance with all loan offer conditions prior to seeking approval from the relevant authority.

Coordinating the preparation and timely dispatch of loan proceeds to facilitate completion.
Performing all administrative tasks related to the Loans Underwriting process as outlined in the policy and procedures manual.
Providing completion details for each case to the Mortgage Accounts area.

Approving Loan Offers presented by Mortgage Assessors within delegated authority and recommending loan approvals to authorized personnel as necessary.

Authorizing the release of funds as appropriate.

Reviewing and suggesting improvements to underwriting processes to enhance efficiency while maintaining control and adhering to prudent lending criteria.

Establishing and maintaining the Departmental Procedure Manual and other relevant documentation as required.
Fostering business relationships with third parties as needed.
Participating in internal or external meetings as required.
Completing any additional tasks assigned by the Head of Loans Underwriting or their superiors.
Responding to all incoming case-related communications within agreed Service Level Agreements.

Must possess Manual Underwriting experience.
Must have experience in Buy to Let Mortgage Underwriting.
