Lead Underwriter for Specie and Fine Art

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Underwriter to become a vital part of our Specie and Fine Art division. In this role, you will oversee the financial performance of our Specie and Fine Art offerings by evaluating new business opportunities, managing renewals, and making midterm adjustments as necessary. This position requires a keen eye for assessing the adequacy of rates across all managed business, executing and refining strategies, and providing performance reports as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the underwriting process for a designated Line of Business to ensure profitability, growth, and client retention.
- Guarantee adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory controls in all business dealings.
- Assist in the growth of the assigned Line of Business by analyzing target markets, competitor activities, and industry trends.
- Utilize internal systems for precise data entry and reporting.
- Collaborate with various business units to maximize resource efficiency.
- Track the performance of the Line of Business and propose corrective measures when necessary.
- Advocate for Travelers' Line of Business, distribution strategies, and underwriting principles.
- Offer mentorship and support to team members.
Qualifications:
- Preferred degree in a relevant field.
- Comprehensive understanding of industry operations and financial dynamics.
- Proven experience in underwriting within Lloyd's or the company market.
- ACII qualification is a plus.
