XPO Transport Solutions UK Limited is seeking a skilled Transport Shift Operator to join our team in Bristol. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective running of our transport function.
Key Responsibilities:- Operations: Booking in and dispatching a team of drivers, shunters, and warehouse operatives, as well as booking sub-contract vehicles and drivers.
- Dispatch: Ensuring the timely loading of vehicles on site and dispatching drivers.
- Customer Service: Communicating issues to customers and supporting the shift management team with customer ETAs, haulier, and supplier communication.
- Administration: Processing debrief paperwork and filing accurately and securely, providing proof of delivery to customers, and liaising with external hauliers.
- Planning: Assisting with operational planning, maintenance planning, KPI reporting, and scheduling and allocating deliveries to over 40 articulated vehicles.
- Relationship Building: Building relationships with third-party hauliers and internal XPO sites, maximizing vehicle utilization, and ensuring deliveries are made on time.
- 1-2 years of experience working within a transport office or office environment.
- Strong communication and administration skills, able to handle different personality types.
- Great organizational skills, management capability, and strong influencing skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word and Excel (training will be provided).
