Our client is seeking a Project Engineer to become a vital part of their team on a permanent basis.
This position may be ideal for a recent graduate with some relevant industry experience.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing selected project orders and liaising with clients.

Specific duties include:
  • Project Management and Planning
  • Participate in internal pre-contract meetings to gather necessary project information.
  • Provide technical guidance prior to order confirmation.
  • Receive and acknowledge detailed drawings.
  • Develop schedules, programs, and registers in collaboration with detail draughtsmen to facilitate internal and external communication and reporting. Monitor progress and ensure targets are met.
  • Track drawing office progress against critical path schedules and prepare weekly progress reports for main contractors.
  • Attend internal process meetings post-order acceptance, advising on design and detailing program status and obtaining updates for client communication.
  • Engage in client meetings as required to address design, detailing, technical, and commercial inquiries, ensuring the company meets its obligations.
  • Establish and maintain a regular communication process with clients regarding the technical and commercial aspects of projects.
  • Prepare and distribute formal reports as directed by the Technical Manager for both internal and client needs.
  • Provide support to detail draughtsmen and administrative staff as necessary for effective project execution.
Design and Detailing:
Ensure adherence to quality assurance procedures within the department.
Collaborate with the Technical Manager to assign detail draughtsmen to projects.

Review contract documentation, including tender details, and coordinate or prepare drawings and details for client approval and fabrication.

Address and resolve all technical queries with clients related to design, detailing, and fabrication.

Optimize company returns through efficient material use and detailing methods.

Maintain timelines for the production of drawn information, including tracking the issue, receipt, and approval of all project drawings and details.

Conduct site visits to establish dimensions or resolve queries to ensure accurate fabrication implementation.

Document and agree on project variations with the Quantity Surveyor to secure additional recoveries for the company.

Oversee the printing and distribution of all drawn information.

Assist the Technical Manager with general and business matters as directed.


About You:
The ideal candidate will be efficient, self-motivated, organized, and possess excellent communication skills, both in IT and interpersonal interactions.
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings is essential.
