Job Title: Junior AML Risk and Compliance Analyst

Howard Kennedy LLP is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior AML Risk and Compliance Analyst to join our Risk and Compliance team.

About the Role

The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the firm in achieving its objectives around compliant file opening, particularly Client Due Diligence (CDD) procedures. This will involve reviewing CDD provided by lawyers, obtaining CDD directly from clients, and approving or rejecting CDD as necessary.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for creating client profiles, filing and completing risk assessments, and conducting sanctions, PEP, and adverse media checks for all clients and counter-parties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and verify CDD provided by lawyers
  • Obtain CDD directly from clients and explain the firm's requirements
  • Approve or reject CDD and provide guidance to lawyers and clients
  • Create client profiles and maintain accurate records
  • Conduct risk assessments and file reports
  • Monitor high-risk clients and maintain the high-risk register
  • Conduct sanctions, PEP, and adverse media checks
  • Provide administrative support to the team as needed
Requirements
