Senior Experience Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile designer who has substantial hands-on experience in crafting exceptional customer experiences for retail and a deep understanding of experience design for mobile games. This role requires collaboration with other UX Leads and designers to lead the conceptualization and realization of exceptional user experiences for retail as well as new gamified experiences throughout the Amazon Shopping Journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the UX Design Team: Oversee various aspects of retail design and understand game design and mechanics to create highly engaging user experiences across Amazon's shopping journey.
  2. Design Conceptual Wireframes: Create conceptual wireframes, user flow diagrams, and low-fidelity prototypes to communicate design concepts for discussion and testing purposes.
  3. Develop Gaming Design System: Create and contribute to the gaming design system, and develop detailed screens and engaging usable flows for games and gamified experiences on mobile apps.
  4. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with UI Designers, art directors, motion designers, and engineers to deliver the best possible user experience while staying within technical and aesthetic constraints.
  5. Inform Design with Data: Collaborate with User Research to ensure that solutions are informed by data.
  6. Implement Design Specifications: Take an active role in implementation and feature delivery.
  7. Proactively Address Challenges: Contribute to and proactively seek solutions to technical or design challenges.
  8. Deliver High-Quality Designs: Help implement design specifications to shippable quality.
  9. Strategic and Tactical Expertise: Be able to take the high strategic view as well as dive deep and execute great game UX independently.
  10. Specialized Skills: Experience in special effects, animation, and rendering.
  11. Adaptability: Capable of adapting to a range of art styles and techniques.
  12. Experience and Expertise: 6+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience.
  13. Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and design.
