Senior Electrical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop electrical systems for our clients, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  2. Manage design changes and revisions, working closely with suppliers and customers to meet their requirements.
  3. Collaborate with suppliers to manage customer facility requirements and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  4. Produce high-quality documentation packs, including drawings and specifications, for customer projects.
  5. Implement 'copy exactly' procedures and design changes for obsolescence, ensuring minimal disruption to our clients' operations.
  6. Attend customer and supplier project meetings to discuss project progress and address any concerns.
  7. Support other departmental projects as needed, providing expertise and guidance to colleagues.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience with fixed installation machines and 3-phase power distribution for 400/200v systems and control boxes.
  3. Knowledge of safety systems complying with EN13849, EN60204, UL508, and other relevant regulations.
  4. Proficiency in completing detailed drawings for machine installation using AutoCAD Electrical and willingness to learn a 3D CAD package such as SolidEdge.
  5. Good understanding of worldwide electrical regulations and the ability to work with 3rd party regulators.
  6. Confidence in working with customers and suppliers, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to work to tight timelines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  8. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports and documentation.
