HGV Vehicle Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled HGV Vehicle Technician to join our team at our Ruislip depot. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing HGVs to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service and maintain HGVs in line with company and manufacturer instructions
  • Diagnose faults and test vehicles using recognised procedures and techniques
  • Work efficiently and productively to achieve targets set by Workshop Supervisors or Manager
  • Operate a 'Fix First Time' approach to ensure quality of work meets/exceeds inspection standards
  • Drive safely and follow operator's license process and procedure
  • Identify defects and/or symptoms of impending failure and report to Workshop Supervisor
  • Order replacement parts and ensure correct completion of paperwork
  • Interpret technical service information and implement correct techniques
  • Ensure correct completion of job-related documentation
  • Report specialist tooling requirements to Workshop Supervisor
  • Recognise and value diversity of thought and each person's unique contribution to the team
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and adhered to
  • Ensure all processes and documentation meet and maintain ISO standards
Requirements:
  • Full UK Class C1 driving licence
  • Experience in servicing and repairing HGVs/LGVs
  • Knowledge of HGV/LGV technical specifications and maintenance requirements
  • Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to actively seek solutions to problems
  • Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks
