Job Overview

Great Ormond Street Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join our team in the Haematology/Oncology Directorate. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for promoting a positive attitude towards continuing improvements in patient care through research and evidence-based practice.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in paediatric nursing, with experience in caring for children with acute and chronic illnesses. You will be a natural leader, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to family-centred care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, prioritizing the needs of children and their families
  • Lead by example, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based practice
  • Act as a mentor and role model for junior staff, providing guidance and support
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with Trust values and standards
Requirements
  • NMC Registered Nurse (Child) or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in paediatric nursing, with a focus on haematology/oncology
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Commitment to family-centred care and evidence-based practice
  • Basic knowledge of computer skills and ability to use electronic patient records
