About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our ophthalmology department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional patient care and support to patients undergoing ophthalmic procedures and treatments.
  • Assist qualified nurses and healthcare professionals in the delivery of patient care.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe environment in the ophthalmology department.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in ophthalmology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of ophthalmic procedures and treatments.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
