Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Stroke Medicine to join our team at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients with stroke and related conditions. This will involve assessing patients, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage patients with stroke and related conditions, including those with complex needs.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, taking into account the latest medical research and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Contribute to the development of stroke services and protocols, ensuring that they are aligned with national guidelines and best practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • Education to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Management qualification degree and/or relevant vocational qualification.
  • At least three years' experience of managing administrative staff in the NHS.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of working in a stroke unit or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of national guidelines and best practices for stroke care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex information to patients and colleagues.
