Lead Scientist - Process Development

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement new processes and control paradigms in ambr250 workflows to drive efficiency and productivity.
  2. Develop and validate small-scale models and scale-down models using high-throughput systems, such as the ambr250, to ensure seamless transition to larger scales.
  3. Evaluate new technologies and assess their potential for high-throughput models, ensuring alignment with Lonza's strategic objectives.
  4. Collaborate closely with upstream Principal Scientists and Technical Directors to support complex experimental studies and drive project success.
  5. Review and analyze experimental results, ensuring accurate scientific documentation and adherence to lab procedures.
  6. Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to lab procedures and supporting safety assessments.
  7. Coordinate resources across various R&D upstream projects, prioritizing tasks and allocating resources effectively.

Key Requirements:

  1. Minimum of BSc in Biotechnology / Biochemistry or related field (MSc desirable).
  2. Proven experience in R&D in an industrial or academic setting, with a strong understanding of ambr250 and ambr15.
  3. Ability to demonstrate innovative skills and lead complex technology projects, with a proactive attitude to problem-solving.
  4. Team leadership or mentoring experience, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
