Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptional Autism Support Specialist to join our team at PK Education. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex needs, including high-functioning Autism, in a supportive school environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with complex needs, including high-functioning Autism, in a classroom setting.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons to meet the needs of SEND students.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support pupils with Autism, including behavior management and communication techniques.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system for SEND students.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for SEND students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in schools, preferably in a SEND or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of Autism and its effects on learning and behavior.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies to support pupils with Autism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
