Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Nurse to join our East Site Stoma / Colorectal Nursing team. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide nursing support to inpatient and outpatient areas, working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver patient care.

Main Duties

The successful post holder will be responsible for:

  • Delivering patient care complementary to that offered by Doctors and other healthcare professionals within the field of Stoma / Colorectal Care.
  • Acting as part of the colorectal care nursing team to support both in-patient and out-patient services.
  • Ensuring patients receive appropriate management and treatment, aiding their pathway and contributing to decreased length of stay.
  • Working collaboratively with the Stoma / Colorectal team to ensure both elective and emergency patients receive holistic assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of their care needs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Post-registration education, a Diploma / Degree Level.
  • Post-Registration nursing experience at Band 5 level or above.
  • Demonstrate involvement in change management and successful implementation of practice / quality improvements.
  • Excellent Organisational and Leadership skills.
  • Experience of multi-professional working / working effectively with other stakeholders.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the advances and current issues in Lower Gastro-intestinal disorders.
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate teaching skills.
