Our Chambers and Legal 500 recognised team has an exceptional track-record in dealing with complex and catastrophic claims. This enables us to deal with individual claims and identify claim trends and opponent's strategies to ensure clients have that insight at the earliest possible stage. Our five Special Interest Groups ('SIGs') - made up of teams of leading experts from across our offices, focussing on key injury groups within this sphere - ensure that we always provide clients with the very latest insight and advice, while standardising and rationalising internal handling processes. As a Large Loss Lawyer / Solicitor / Legal Executive, you will handle your own case load of large loss RTA claims mostly valued between £25,000 and £100,000 with some cases up to £150,000. You will be responsible for forensic analysis of often voluminous quantum evidence, preparing chronologies, identifying anomalies and other relevant information across various sources and categories of evidence. You will use your existing knowledge of complex injury symptomology to identify relevant issues within medical records in order to instruct medical experts, drawing key issues to their attention. Critical analysis of sources of liability evidence and identifying any gaps is also a key part of this role. You will draft concise technical advice on all aspects of claim handling to include advice on reserves, indemnity, liability, quantum and causation issues and claims resolution for strategy discussion with the Lead Lawyer as appropriate. Liaising with parties involved in claims including the insured, insurer, witnesses etc. is also a key part of this role. Instructing counsel and attending conferences, JSMs, mediations both remotely and in person is also required. You will attend court in person or by telephone, attend trials, settlement conferences etc as required. Delivery of agreed performance targets and quality standards is also a key part of this role. The primary location for this role is Newcastle Office although other Keoghs offices will be considered. The successful candidate must be flexible to commute to the Newcastle office on an ad-hoc basis to interact with their peers. Qualified solicitor, CILEX or proven relevant legal experience - it is essential you have handled cases up to £100K in your own name. Experience of indemnity and RTA liability and complex medical issues and causation is essential. Experience working in a similar role assisting on large loss and/or catastrophic injury claims is also essential.
