Work Environment

You will join a recently created Tractebel entity with very ambitious goals and exceptional projects. Our entity's mission is to promote Tractebel as a key player of the nuclear business in the UK.

The Consortium SICOS, composed of Tractebel, Egis, and Setec, is in charge of the design and detailing of the reinforced concrete structures of the Nuclear Island of Hinkley Point C (HPC) Nuclear Power Plant, one of the world's largest construction projects.

HPC is set to be the benchmark for future construction of similar projects in the UK. This is a great way to be exposed to the latest technology and digital construction methods with 3D BIM rebar modeling on such a large industrial project.

Job Profile

We are looking for a motivated Civil Engineer to work on the design and construction of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) nuclear power plant.

As part of the Joint Design Office (JDO), your responsibilities will include managing and treating site change requests respecting the design intent, project specifications, and deadlines. You will support the Civil Team of the Nuclear Island in optimizing the design received from the Back Office.

  • Manage civil works contractor's queries related to the design packages released by the Back-Office;
  • Field Change Requests (FCR) from the site and assess their feasibility;
  • Coordinate with the drafting team managing the implementation of the design modifications in the 3D models and 2D drawings;
  • Non-Conformance Report (NCR) from the civil works contractor and assess the proposed repair solution or propose additional measures;
  • Quick assessment on reinforcement concrete issues (hand calculations);
  • Communicate with the back-office team as appropriate;

Essential Experience

  • Civil or Structural Engineering with at least 3 years of proven experience in the field;
  • Reinforced concrete calculation and design;
  • Nuclear or complex industrial projects;
  • Reinforced concrete detailing;
  • Self-motivated towards improving personal performance and able to generate innovative outcomes to challenges;
