About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CAMHS Practitioner to join our team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. As a key member of our integrated team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health services to children and young people in North Wales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop effective care plans for children and young people.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support emotional wellbeing and mental health.
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals to provide a holistic approach to mental health care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of service policies and procedures.
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to junior team members.
Requirements
  • Relevant professional qualification and registration in a field such as mental health nursing, social work, or occupational therapy.
  • Experience of working with children and young people in a mental health setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of mental health problems and disorders, as well as family dynamics and issues related to working with families.
  • Understanding of relevant therapeutic approaches and national policies.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Additional formal qualification in a recognised therapeutic approach, such as EMDR.
  • Experience of working in a specific clinical role relating to CAMHS.
  • Previous specialist CAMHS experience.
