About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at Galliford Try. As a key member of our finance function, you will play a critical role in providing financial support and guidance to our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet reconciliations, to identify variances and trends.
  • Manage purchase invoicing and payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Raise and manage sales invoices, cross-checking to contracts where applicable.
  • Process VAT and other statutory returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Process and reconcile all additional recharges and transactions, maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide detailed support on audit queries, taking responsibility for routine items.
  • Support financial modelling, providing data and analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Prepare monthly or quarterly management accounts, providing insights into business performance.
  • Manage monthly invoicing and payment, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain annual budgets, working closely with senior management.
  • Maintain high-quality ledgers and underlying data, ensuring accurate and timely information.
About You
  • You will have the ability to work independently and autonomously, with a strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • You will be able to take responsibility for your own work, being proactive and responsive to changing priorities.
  • You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with senior stakeholders.
  • You will be a part-qualified accountant or newly qualified, with prior experience in preparing management accounts and financial analysis.
  • You will have proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software packages, with a strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis.
